Go Green Racers

Final reflections on creating a recycled racer:

I learned how to make a car completely out of reused things. I learned how to make really cool things without having to buy a lot. I learned which wheels work best. I think it is important for engineers to share ideas because people have good ideas and you can put them together to make a team.

Life in the 1700s

What was life like in the colonies in the 1700s?
Hello. My name is Abigail. I live in the early 1700s. I just came from England to America. I live in an English home. We had a work party to build our new home. We had turkey, pie, bread, cake, apple cider, and maple sugar. My favorite thing to eat is apples. From England I brought a music box, a doll, and a necklace. I don’t get why we can’t laugh or play on Sunday, but we try hard to honor the Lord’s day. The sermons can be kind of long though. I love my new home!

The Macy’s Day Parade

You should watch the Macy’s Day Parade. The Macy’s Day Parade is on Thanksgiving morning, so you can watch it while you are eating breakfast and with your family in your pajamas. There are also really cool tricks, floats, and famous singers like Taylor Swift. This year Taylor Swift sang “Shake It Off” and “Welcome to New York” from her new album 1989.

There are also super cool acrobats. This year a circus performed crazy tricks on their float. It was very cool. There was flipping and jumping on the float.

The most well-known part is the balloons. This year Paddington was one of the balloons. His suitcase was the size of a two car garage! Then at the end of the parade Santa on his sleigh rides through the streets finishing the parade.

Next year you should watch it too.
